The Shaker Market Moved Toward Ball-Free Mixing: What the Deal Signals
Published

A listed drinkware brand has bought a vortex shaker's designs and tooling, and the signal for buyers sits in the mixing mechanism rather than on the badge. Ball-free mixing is moving into the mainstream of the category.
A listed drinkware brand has bought the designs and tooling behind a vortex shaker, and the transaction says more about this category than any single launch. The direction it points to is simple to state: mixing without a loose agitator inside the bottle.
What the deal covers
Helimix, of Punta Gorda, sold its shaker designs, tooling and intellectual property to YETI Holdings for approximately USD 38 million in an asset sale announced in November 2025. The seller trades as Nourilogic LLC, and Class VI Partners advised the seller on the transaction.

The mechanism at the centre of the deal
The cup mixes with a hexagonal internal wall, so the bottle needs no whisk ball and no screen to break up the powder. The design long predates the current wave of interest in ball-free mixing.
What a design and tooling purchase changes for buyers
Buying designs and tooling is different from taking a licence or placing a supply order, because the shape, the moulds and the intellectual property move together. YETI is listed on the NYSE and now sells the shaker under its own brand, which places the geometry inside a listed company's catalogue. For a buyer, the useful question is not who owns the shape, but how the liquid inside the cup is moved.
How MIXVIEN approaches the same question
MIXVIEN builds these mixing cups around drives that stay fixed to the cup. The VX100 and the P9T are driven by a magnetic rotor and the VX90 by a stirring paddle, so no separate agitator goes into the drink.
- VX100: 800 ml, with 600 ml marked on the body, a magnetic rotor instead of a blade, a 316 stainless steel liner, an IPX6 whole-unit wash and a 1200 mAh battery
- VX90: 630 ml, a stirring paddle driven at 9000 rpm, a 1200 mAh battery and a Tritan body rated to 100 C
- P9T: 400 ml, a magnetic rotor, a 316 stainless steel interior and 12 h of heat retention
- 25700: 700 ml, an Eastman Tritan body, USB recharging, a private mould and four body colours
What to confirm before you source
The deal is a signal, not a specification, and the details that matter to a buyer are the ones that stay inside the cup after the announcement is filed. A short list settles most of it.
- Ask which mechanism moves the liquid, and whether a loose part has to be taken out before cleaning
- Confirm the material of the body and of everything the drink touches
- Check how the unit is meant to be cleaned, and whether the base comes apart
- Confirm packing and transport details for any powered cup before the first order
